Highland Orthopaedic Courses Ltd is a non profit organisation. Our aim is to provide high quality, low cost educational courses for orthopaedic surgeons. It was established in 2023 and the first course on FRCS Basic science was conducted in October 2023 and had good reviews. Our aim is to run cost effective courses which are beneficial to trauma and orthopaedic surgeons towards their career progression.
Our Directors
Mr. R. Thangaraj is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in complex lower limb trauma and arthroplasty with subspeciality interest in knee revision arthroplasty. He is an appraiser, educational and clinical supervisor. He has been in the faculty in the Wrightington FRCS courses in the past. He has M.Sc. degree in Biomechanics from Cardiff University, School Of Engineering. He is keen on teaching and training young orthopaedic surgeons. He is a AO member and is member of knee subspeciality committee in SICOT.
Mr. G. Cousins is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty interest in Spinal Surgery and Arthroplasty. Trained in Tayside, Glasgow and Sheffield. Middle grade lead in NHS Highland. SCOT orthopaedic trainer of the year 2023 and BOTA UK trainer of the year runner up 2022.
Mr Suddhajit Sen is a Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon, an associate director of medical education with NHS Highland and a clinical tutor for Orthopaedic Master’s curriculum in Dundee University. Skilled in reconstructive hand and peripheral Nerve Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Microsurgery, Medical Education, and Diversity Champion. Mr. Sen has a post graduate Certificate in Medical Education from Edge Hill University and a fellow of the faculty of surgical trainers of the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
